The Nissan Silvia in the S13 generation were known as the Nissan Silvia or 180SX in Japan, the 200SX in Europe, and the 240SX in the US. Japan and Europe recieved both naturally-aspirated and turbocharged twincam four cylinder engines — in 1991 model year, the earlier CA18E and CA18ET engines were replaced with more advanced SR20DE and SR20DET engines, which have developed a significant following for their performance potential. These engines are frequently imported to be installed into US-market 240SX models, which were saddled with the KA-series four cylinder more typically found in Nissan's trucks. The S13 generation was was succeded by the S14 generation starting in 1994, although the 180SX variant continued in production until 1998.
