Nissan Silvia - S15 (1999 to 2002)

The 6th generation of the Nissan Silvia (200SX in Australia and New Zealand) was available between 1999 and 2002.  Two engines were available: the 247 hp 2.0L Turbocharged I4 (SR20DET) and a 163 hp naturally aspirated 2.0L I4 (SR20DE).  The S15 Silvia model lineup was simplified to just Spec-S and Spec-R, with both variants offering an "Aero" version with a large rear wing and side skirts. The Spec-S was naturally aspirated, while the Spec-R sported the turbocharged engine. However, in Australia and New Zealand, both variants had the SR20DET (the naturally aspirated engine was not available in those markets). In Japan, Nissan also offered a retractable hardtop variant of the Silvia, called the Varietta, built by Autech and based on the Spec-S model. Only 1143 Varietta's were produced.
