Packard Standard Eight - 1st Gen (1928 to 1932)

The first generation of Packard Standard Eight was introduced for the 1928 model year. The first generation Standard Eight was created when Packard split the Eight into the Custom Eight and the Standard Eight. The Standard Eight would be placed as the more affordable and less equipped of the two models, and was available in a wide range of open and closed body styles. Power for the first generation Standard Eight came from a 6.3L inline eight engine. Production of the Standard Eight would end in 1932, but Packard would reintroduce the name in 1948 for the Packard Clipper based Second Generation Standard Eight.
