The Panther J72 was a family of low production sports cars that was introduced in 1972. The J72 was created to emulate the famed Jaguar SS100, and was built on Jaguar XJ mechanicals. This series of cars were available with three engine options, all of which were sourced from Jaguar: 3.8L inline six, 4.2L inline six, and 5.3L V12. These engines sent power to the rear wheels via both manual and automatic transmission options. Just a total of 368 examples were built before the Panther J72 was discontinued.
