Plymouth Road Runner (1968 to 1975)

The Plymouth Road Runner is a mid-size car with a focus on performance built by Plymouth in the United States between 1968 and 1975. By 1968, some of the original muscle cars were moving away from their roots as relatively cheap, fast cars as they gained features and increased in price. Plymouth developed the Road Runner to market a lower priced, basic trim model to its upscale GTX. A notable variant is the Plymouth Superbird which is treated here as a separate model. After 1975, the Road Runner became a trim package within the Plymouth Volaré model. The Road Runner was built in three generations: 1st Gen (1968-1970), 2nd Gen (1971-1974), and 3rd Gen (1975).
