The Pontiac Grand Prix Model SJ was the sporty variant for the 3rd Gen Grand Prix. Introduced for the 1969 model year, the 3rd Gen Model SJ was only available in a two door hardtop bodystyle. These sporty coupes were fitted as standard with a 455ci V8 engine, although a 428ci was optional. The majority of cars were equipped with a 3 speed automatic, but 3 and 4 speed manual transmissions were offered over the course of production. Regardless of transmission, drive was sent to the rear wheels. Production of the 3rd Gen Pontiac Grand Prix Model SJ ended in 1972.
