The Porsche 910 (known internally as the 906/10), was a race car built in 1966 as a further development of the Porsche 906 to be used by the factory racing team in the sports world car championship and the European Hillclimb championship. Unlike the street-legal, customer-oriented 906, the 910 was a non-street-legal, factory-exclusive race car with some minor improvements. These included 13-inch magnesium, center bolt wheels (like those used in F1), a new plastic body with a removable rooftop to accommodate taller drivers, a redesigned and improved tubular chassis, and several suspension improvements. The engine used initially was the same as used in the 906: a 2L flat 6 with 220 hp, which was later replaced in 1967 by an 8-cylinder engine designed for the improved 907 was used. The 910 achieved success winning the 1967 European Hillclimb Championship, the 1967 Targa Florio, the Nürburgring 100K (1-4th place), and the 2-litre class manufacturer's championship for the 1967 season.
