Porsche 912 - SWB (1965 to 1968)

With the 356 discontinued in 1965, Porsche introduced the 912 to meet continued demand for the 1.6 liter 4-cylinder engine particularly in the United States. At the time, it was considered and entry level vehicle to the 911, using the same short wheelbase (SWB) chassis and body of the standard car, in both coupe and Targa (semi-convertible) body styles. As with the rest of the 911 line-up, for the 1969 model year, it evolved into the long wheelbase (LWB) Porsche 912.
