The S Diesel was introduced as one of the versions of the 1st Gen Macan for the 2015 model year. Designed to combine efficiency with characteristic Porsche performance, the S Diesel was especially aimed at the European market where diesel engines were popular before the transition towards more sustainable engines. With a 3.0L turbodiesel V6 engine and a 7 speed automatic transmission, this all wheel drive SUV was well received for its balance between power, efficiency and comfort. The Porsche Macan S Diesel was produced until 2018 when the brand started aiming towards hybrid and gasoline engines following the Dieselgate scandal.
