The Shelby Daytona CSX2000 was a limited production continuation variant of the Shelby Daytona. The CSX2000 continuation series is based on the famed CSX2286 race car, which was Carroll Shelby's "secret weapon" for the 1964 Le Mans 24 Hours. The Secret Weapon was a Daytona body that had been extended by three inches in order to fit a NASCAR spec 427 cubic inch V8 engine instead of the 289 small block. Unfortunately, the truck carrying the truck carrying CSX2286 crashed, preventing the car from competing at Le Mans with the 427 engine (it would later race with a 289). Only 6 examples of the CSX2000 Secrect Weapon Continuation will be built, numbered sequentially from CSX2620 to CSX2625.
