Subaru 360 (1959 to 1971)

The Subaru 360 was a series of microcars introduced for the 1959 model year. While the 360 was not the first model created by Subaru, it was the first mass produced offering. The 360 was a built in a variety of body styles including sedan, station wagon (known as the Custom), and roll back cloth top convertible; all variants were fitted with suicide doors. Subaru named the 360 due to its 356cc inline two-stroke inline two engine. A few sporty variants known as the Young S and Young SS that offered improved performance were also available. Production of the Subaru 360 ended in 1971 with almost 400,000 examples built.
