Subaru Leone (1972 to 1994)

The Subaru Leone was a series of compact cars introduced for the 1972 model year. The Leone was one of few early Subaru models to be exported, and as such, was commonly known by its trim designation (DL, GL, GLF, RX). Another common name was the L Series. The Leone was offered in a variety of sedan, coupe, station wagon, and hatchback body styles, and served as the base for the Subaru BRAT. Various engines inline four and flat four engines were fitted to the Leone, which was built in three generations: 1st Gen (1972-1981), 2nd Gen (1980-1984), 3rd Gen (1985-1994).
