The Rootes Group had acquired Sunbeam in 1935 and eventually renamed the brand Sunbeam-Talbot, and used it to sell sporty, upmarket cars. The Ten, which was the first car to be badged as a Sunbeam-Talbot, was previously sold as the Talbot Ten.
