Suzuki Jimny - 1st Gen (1970 to 1981)

The 1st Gen Jimny was introduced by Suzuki in 1970 as the first Japanese compact 4WD vehicle. It was a pioneer of the mini-SUV segment, embodying the spirit of adventure in a tiny but unstoppable form. Its engines were small-displacement, starting with a 359cc twin-cylinder engine, evolving to two and three cylinder engines up to 797cc in the LJ80, always paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. Codenamed LJ (Light Jeep), this Jimny evolved from the barebones LJ10 to the more refined LJ80. The 1st Gen Suzuki Jimny was produced until 1981 when it was replaced by the 2nd Gen (1981-1998).
