The British Talbot 14-45, or Talbot 65, as it became known in 1932, was designed to compete with the Rolls-Royce 20. “Rolls Royce refinement for half the engine size and quarter the price,” as the company put it. Many new technological advancements were applied to the development of the motor, and the car was put into production in 1926 featuring an inline six-cylinder engine producing almost 50bhp. It was advertised as a luxury car and successor to the 12-30. A particular 14-65 of note was bodied by a boat builder completely out of would and is known today as the 1932 Talbot 14/65 Boat-Tail Tourer. Talbot ended production of the 14-45 in 1935.
