First produced in 1981 by the short-lived and Peugeot-owned Talbot, the Samba was the successor to the Sunbeam. The Samba was based on the Peugeot 104. The significant difference in the Samba was its front-wheel drive configuration. The car was available in two doors and convertible with only an inline four-cylinder engine option. Talbot produced a particular Rallye version of the vehicle with a few modifications and also a purpose-built rally version called the Peugeot Talbot Sport Samba Rallye. The Samba was the last of the modern Talbots, ending production in 1986.
