The sixth-generation Toyota 4Runner was introduced for the 2025 model year. It maintains its rugged five-door body-on-frame SUV architecture, combining standard rear-wheel drive with the option of all-wheel drive to maximize its off-road capabilities. It incorporates two new engines: the 2.4L turbocharged inline four with 278hp and the i-FORCE MAX hybrid version, which combines the same block with an electric motor to achieve 326hp. Both are paired to an 8 speed automatic transmission. It includes the Toyota Safety Sense-P package with emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning and automatic headlights. This generation also offers a range of nine versions, including the popular SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Sport Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Limited and TRD Pro, as well as two new trim levels: Trailhunter and Platinum.
