Toyota Corolla - E30/E50 - 3rd Gen (1974 to 1981)

The Toyota Corolla E30/E50 was the third generation of cars sold by Toyota under the Corolla nameplate. It was built from August 1974 to July 1981 and marked Toyota's greatest growth in the United States in the wake of the fuel crisis. The 1.2L I4 (3K) engine was mostly used used in Europe, later the 1.3L I4 (4K), while most Japanese and American models had the bigger 1.6L I4 (2T) engine. Body styles include sedan, wagon, three-door "liftback" (treated here as a Hatchback), and coupe. Even though the E30 and E50 series were replaced by the Toyota Corolla E70 series in August 1979 in most markets, the original E30 series and the facelifted E50 series both continued production until July 1981.
