Availalble between 1988 and 1989, the Supercharged Toyota MR2 was a variant of the 1st generation (W10) MR2 introduced in parallel with the naturally aspirated versions. The Toyota MR2 Supercharged was powered by the Toyota 4A-GZE 1,587 cc (1.6 L) inline-four engine, capable of 145 hp (compared to 112 hp for the naturally aspirated version in the US), driving power to the rear via a 5-speed manual transmission. Most (if not all) Supercharged MR2 were produced with removable roof-top panels (T-top body style).
