Triumph TR6 - Race Cars (1968 to 1976)

When the Triumph TR6 was introduced to the market it shared the 2.5L engine with the TR5 that came in two different specifications, the UK & global spec that was a fuel-injected 150hp version and carbureted American version with a low 104hp. TR6’s were very popular for racing since they opened the door to enthusiasts to be competitive on track with reasonable expenses, that is why they became hugely accepted for club racing. TR6’s are famous for launching Paul Newman to his racing career after winning the SCCA D-production championship and the famed Quaker State car driven by non-other than Bob Tullius.
