The Ultima Mk3 was a series of kit cars that were introduced in 1989. These lightweight, high performance cars were the last ones to be designed by Lee Noble. The Mk3, which was built using a tubular aluminum frame, with a mid-mounted engine, with engines including 3.0L V6, a 5.7L V8, or a 6.2L V8. Regardless of the powerplant, drive was sent from the engine to the rear wheels through a 5 speed manual transmission. Notably, two examples of the Mk3 were used as a testbed for the famed McLaren F1. Production of the Ultima Mk3 ended in 1992, when it was replaced by the Ultima Sport.
