Volvo 242 (1975 to 1984)

The Volvo 242 was a variant of the Volvo 200 Series that debuted for the 1975 model year. The 242 was built in a coupe body style, and was available with Volvo's 'Red Block' engine, which was an inline four ranging from 1.8L to 2.3L in displacement. The 242, whose name stands for 200 Series, 4 cylinders, 2 doors, was a rear wheel drive car offered with manual or automatic transmissions. Production of the Volvo 242 lated until 1984.
