Volvo S80 - 2nd Gen (2006 to 2016)

The second-generation Volvo S80 arrived in late 2006 for the 2007 model year, ushering in a new era for Volvo’s executive sedans. Built on the innovative P3 platform and sharing its DNA with the third-generation V70 estate, the S80 signaled Volvo’s embrace of sleeker design and smarter, more efficient engines. The exterior  presents a streamlined four-door saloon profile with sharp lines, a sculpted waterfall grille, and signature L-shaped LED taillights that underscore Volvo’s post-Concept Universe styling. Inside front bucket seats offer heating, ventilation, and even massage, all set against a minimalist dashboard anchored by a floating center console. Premium touches abound, from dual-zone climate control to a portrait-oriented touchscreen infotainment system. Under the hood, drivers could choose from a lively 2.0L Turbo I4 with 241hp, a smooth 3.2L I6 at 238hp, or a Yamaha-crafted 4.4 L V8 delivering 316 hp. Diesel enthusiasts found up to 215hp in the D5 variants. A 6-speed Geartronic automatic transmission sent power to the front wheels as standard, while higher-output T6 and V8 models offered the confidence of all-wheel drive. After a decade of refinement, the S80’s journey concluded in mid-2016, making way for the all-new S90 flagship sedan.
