The standard, or Base Model, was the entry-level offering for the 2nd Gen Volvo V70 that debuted for the 2000 model year. A range of inline five engines powered the V70, including a Bi-Fuel model with LPG tanks installed in the underside so the cargo area was still usable. The V70 had a face lift with the 2005 model where the front was redesigned and head and tail lamps were changed. A new 6 speed automatic gearbox was now available for the front and all wheel drive models. Production ended in 2007 when the V70 was superseded by the 3rd Gen Volvo V70.
