The 6C is an iconic milestone in Alfa Romeo‘s history. This example was delivered new in 1934 as a 6C Cabriolet and was fitted with an aluminium sports body at the beginning of the 1950s by the then Australian owner. At the same time, the car was equipped with a 2500SS Mille Miglia engine that produces 115 hp. The goal of the then owner was to build the ultimate Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 Pescara and in our opinion, he could not have succeeded better. At first glance, the appearance seems to be the star of the show in this case while we can only say that he more than fully succeeded. The car was stripped of its convertible body and fitted with the beautiful aluminium open tourer body that it still wears today.

The bodywork of the car is all in very good condition and looks beautiful. The work was carried out at a very high level at the time and the complete car is therefore still to be passed through a ring. The side view of the car is dominated by the beautiful stainless steel exhaust. The car sounds exactly as you expect: fantastic! The car naturally stands on wire wheels with good tires in the correct sizes. The sheet metal fits nicely everywhere and is in very good condition. At the time, the car was painted in the Bordeaux red Alfa Romeo colour that was so characteristic for that period. The colour matches the car perfectly and contributes to the enormous appearance of the car.

The interior was, of course, completely reupholstered at the time. The car has a rear seat shaped to the body of the car with a cutout that turns the seat into two individual seats. The bench keeps you firmly in place and fits perfectly with the original look of the car. The interior also features well-functioning instruments and controls that all match the style of the car. Steering is done by means of a large sports steering wheel with four spokes to somewhat eliminate the lack of power steering. Shifting is very modern through a poker that is mounted on the floor in the interior of the car.

The engine is very powerful and runs great. It may be called a small miracle that the previous owner was able to obtain the engine in the 1950s. This means that this Alfa Romeo 6C is not only very fast but can also be driven on torque. The technology has always been well maintained and the transmission has also been recently overhauled. The engine is mated to a four-speed manual transmission that shifts precisely. The gearbox ratios fit well with the character of the engine and high speeds are no problem for this engine. The 2.5-litre in-line six is fed by three carburettors that only enhance the engine’s fantastic sound via its own air filter. The Alfa Romeo 6C is such a typical car that you don’t even have to drive fast to get the full driving experience. Even when you are quietly touring, it is an enormous experience to go through traffic in such a 1930s race car.

The car is beautifully documented with an original Alfa Romeo certificate, many invoices of the maintenance, photo series and general information about the model and this particular example. The car is of course known in the Alfa Romeo 6C register and is not only a top example for the diehard Alfa Romeo fan but also a beautiful car if you intend to participate in multi-day rallies, there are few events in the world where you cannot are welcome. In short, not only a beautiful Alfa Romeo 6C 2300 Pescara, built on an original 6c chassis with Millie Miglia engine, to see but also in top technical condition. The beautiful documentation is the icing on the cake.
