The Citroën Traction Avant is a historically significant car that was produced from 1934 to 1957. It was the world’s first mass-produced, semi-monocoque bodied, front-wheel drive car - a revolutionary design for its time. With approximately 760,000 units built, the Traction Avant was the first front-wheel drive vehicle to be manufactured in such large quantities.

This innovative French car featured a front-wheel drive layout and unitary construction (semi-monocoque body), which was quite advanced for the mid-1930s. The range included mostly four-door saloons and executive cars, as well as longer wheelbase ‘Commerciale’ models and three-row seating ‘Familiale’ variants, available with both four- and six-cylinder engines.

The 1935 example you’re looking at represents one of these pioneering vehicles from the early production years. Would you like me to help you find other Citroën Traction Avant listings currently available, or do you have any other questions about this classic French automobile?
