Very nice running car
Brand new Black Diamond radials (look like bias plys)
Car had two owners for 40 total years before me.
During prior 20-year ownership a professional shop did the following work: All new wiring, 12v conversion, modern shock absorbers, complete brakes and lines, clutch/pressure plate/throwout bearing, transmission rebuilt, Pertronix ignition, battery, generator style alternator, sealed beam headlights, new convertible top. Over $20k in receipts from prior owner. This car was his pride and joy.
Under earlier 20-year ownership interior redone and '49 Mercury flathead V8 installed (110hp vs 85hp in '38).
Minor issues:
Convertible top has a 2" diameter mouse hole in the middle, otherwise like new
Glove compartment cardboard insert deteriorated
Electrical issue with oil pressure gauge, could be relay or wiring or 12v to 6v reducer
No key start or door locking, just factory on-off switch on column
Rubber floor mat replaced many years ago, getting brittle
Automatic choke needs adjusting - takes a few minutes to warm up
