1946 Buick, Super, Series 50, Model 51, 4-door sedan, 4.3 cc (263 CI) inline-8 engine, professionally rebuilt in Belgium before 2002 by the other owner, 3-speed manual transmission, original 6-volt engine, there are many rare accessories on the car.
I'm also leaving many mechanical parts, bodywork, mechanical documentation, a 4.064 cc (248 CI) engine, in working condition but in need of a clean overhaul, original white steering wheel in good condition, reconditioned, and various other parts as well.
I have a file of invoices for everything I've purchased and repaired since 2002. The car is sound, no rust, roadworthy, and registered. It's driven smoothly.
I've owned this vehicle for 22 years.
Since purchasing it in 2002, I've improved it to run smoothly, accessorizing it with items including some rare and new found period items (N.O.S).
The interior is like new, the chrome was redone in early 2000, the engine was rebuilt a few years ago, and it has had few miles since then. The fuel tank has been rebuilt, the front suspension has been new, the radiators have been rebuilt, the carburetor has been rebuilt, and the alternator has been rebuilt. The brakes are excellent, the master cylinder has been replaced, and the radial tires have had very few miles. It handles like a new vehicle. It's not a show car, but it's in very good condition.
What needs to be reviewed: rear suspension, some body imperfections, paint, some minor mechanical seals and windows, missing trunk interior trim, fuel gauge dial to be restored.
History: Car ordered in 1946 for France, arrived in Paris in 1947 (the speedometer is in KM/Hour by GM originally), found in the late 1990s in the south of France in the Var region, restored in early 2000 by the previous owner. I arrived in Quebec from France in 2007.
This vehicle still makes a strong impression because of its unique style, unusual for this year just after the war.
If you like the old-school Chicano style, it already has all the necessary elements; it will still have a low-rider paint job and hydraulic or air suspension. You won't find an equivalent, price, or condition, even in California, if not, let me know.
If you'd like to restore it to a more classic style, that's also possible. You could easily resell some of the accessories.
This vehicle has already been rented for films (recorded at Mels Studio), music videos, photo shoots, and proms. This helps cover its maintenance.
Available for viewing in the Montreal, QC, Canada area.
I can send you more photos upon request.
I don't handle delivery. I can help where I can, but it's up to the buyer to make their own arrangements.
