This used to be my uncle's car and I was the highest bidder at the estate auction. He used to show it at the Annual Street Rod Nationals in Louisville. It does run and I've driven it around town to the BMV, grocery store and local shop (Old Fort Customz). It currently likes to overheat but I am working on getting that resolved. It's pretty much all original so I'm trying to avoid replacing old/original with new/technologically advanced components. I was able to have the original gas tank fully restored (pic in media) with a lifetime, transferrable warranty. This car sure turns a lot of heads and gets a lot of comments, even when I trailered it from KY to IN.
Some specs I found while researching: Cadillac began producing vehicles again on Oct 7, 1945 (as 1946 models) with little change to the 1942 model. About 18,500 Series 62's were produced and close to 15,000 of them were 4 doors (although most people opted for the automatic).
More to come as I tinker with it more and get it cleaned up and running better. If you're from around the area you might see it at the Cars & Coffee events they do up in Auburn at the Duesenberg Automobile Museum.
I am in no rush to get rid of this beauty, but have a prior project truck commitment (69 C10).
