About this 1951 Ford Custom Coupe

VIN: B1EG145624

About 6 years ago the owner saw this gold flaked red rolling bottle of Goldschlager and decided he had to have it.

Once in his possession, he felt it needed some of his own personalization. He added power steering, headers and an Edelbrock 4bbl carb and manifold set up, Vintage Air-AC, rebuilt alternator, pinstriping, power disc brakes up front, 8.8 rear axle from a Ford Ranger with 2.75-1 gears, he replaced the airbag suspension with lowered coils and shocks, added polished aluminum exhaust tips, red leather wrapped sport steering wheel, small center console for the Bosch tach and tucked a couple of other Bosch gauges under the dash.

The modifications that had been done already when he purchased it were numerous:

Frenched headlights and tail lights. The headlights are halogen, the tail lights from a 49 Ford. Corvette grill inset, shaved door handles, hood and trunk, and frenched rear antenna, 1957 Dodge Royal Lancer hubcaps, Jaguar rack and pinion, Chevy 350, Powerglide auto trans, leather button tuck and tuck and roll upholstery, vinyl headliner, electronic trunk release, blue dots, electric wipers, rolled wheel wells, turnpike cruiser skirts, tilt wheel (also from a Chevy), dash pinstriping, dummy spotlights and lake pipes, one piece side windows, Lokar floor shifter, fully upholstered trunk and of course, the gold flake paint that has more gold in it than a western mining town.

The photos unfortunately do not do full justice for the level of gold flake, it is stunning.

Plunk down in the rather comfortable red and white bench seat, turn the key, hear the electric fuel pump tick, turn the key one more notch and with two pumps of the gas pedal, the small block Chevy fires to life and rumbles through the custom bent dual exhaust. It sounds great, most SBC's do with headers and dual exhaust. Pull the shifter back to D and off she goes. Acceleration is quick and firm, steering is crisp, brakes stop the car very securely. I once experienced some hesitation on acceleration, carb may need some fine tuning.

The car is a real pleasure to drive.

Driving a car like this, one gets LOTS of looks and thumbs up.

There are some minor flaws in the paint, as pointed out in the photos, a couple of chips along the hood lines, a couple of small bubbles on the fender and one on the C pillar. The interior isn't perfect but with some attention to detail, could be brought up a notch.

The underside has been sprayed with NH Undercoatings, an oil based anti-corrosion treatment that penetrates into the steel over a couple of applications, making it nearly impervious to rust. There is no rust, aside from minor surface on some suspension bits.

Rather sadly, the owner hardly got to feel that enjoyment. In between different upgrades, he had the car out and about, but he passed away last year and now the car is being sold by his widow.

The odometer shows 80,000 miles but true mileage on the non-stock engine and drive-train is unknown.

In a true custom car show, this car may not take home gold ... but at cruise nights, local cars shows and cars & coffees, she'll truly shine.

Any questions, for many more photos and video, to schedule a time to see her in person, or simply to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for the interest!
