“What is the history of the Dodge M37 and how many were produced?”
The Dodge M37 is a 3/4-ton 4×4 military truck that Dodge developed right after WWII as the replacement for the WC series. Full-scale production started in January 1951, and by the mid-1950s about 63,000 base M37s had been built. In 1958 Dodge introduced the improved M37B1; when you add those later trucks plus a few thousand Canadian-built versions, total production comes out to roughly 115,000 vehicles. The M37 family served through the Korean and Vietnam wars, and after Uncle Sam was done with them they were handed off to federal agencies and sold to civilians—so today you’ll see them everywhere from farms to parade routes.
