I am the second owner, having purchased this car in 1961 when I was in High School. It has the 239 OHV V-8 and 3 speed overdrive transmission. It has always been stored inside but it is well used. It has gone 193,000 miles. It still has the original paint and upholstery. The body is solid, It is rust free. However the right front fender was damaged years ago when the front wheel dropped into a storm drain with a missing grate while parking on a street in San Francisco. I put seat covers on it in 1961 and finally took them off in 2023 when I began a complete restoration. It has been parked in my shop for the last 45+ years. The engine was fully rebuilt in 2024. New pistons, valves, valve springs and reground cam. Rod and main journals were turned .010 under. Cylinders were bored .030 over. Resurfaced flywheel, new clutch. Transmission and OD disassembled and rebuilt. New brake shoes, wheel cylinders and master cylinder. New rubber brake hoses. Brake system filled with DOT 5 fluid. New Aluminum radiator, new fuel tank and fuel gauge and original fuel pump rebuilt. New radial wide white wall tires. The cooling system is filled with Evans coolant. It has been converted to 12 volts.
The brakes were changed to station wagon drums in the 1960s to provide 1” larger drums. The original rear end was swapped out for a station wagon rear end.
I am not planning on finishing the restoration because I am now 82 years old and have other things to do.
The car drives quite well, but has manual steering, manual brakes so it is a bit of a beast to drive compared to today's cars.
