This absolutely stunning 1955 Chevy Bel Air is the rare and sought-after four-door sedan model. It was restored in the early 2000's doing a frame-off restoration. An extensive photo album containing pictures of the complete meticulous restoration process is included. Some photos are included in the gallery here as a representation.

This car drives as beautifully as it looks and was recently driven on a week-long 2,000-mile trip from northern Illinois to Norfolk VA, Washington DC, Pittsburgh PA, and then back to Illinois. This car cruises just as easily at 55 mph on two-lane roads as it does at 70 mph on the interstate. It had no trouble cruising 8-10 hours a day.

Known defects are shown in the photos and are 1) a scratch by the right front wing window, 2) a scratch on top of the steering wheel column, 3) a in the lower spoke of the steering wheel that does not affect the drivability, 4) the fuel gauge needle moves between 1/4 of a tank and 3/4 of a tank registering 1/4 when empty and 3/4 when full, and 5) the clock does not function.

The factory engine temp gauge has been replaced with three gauges in the glovebox showing oil pressure, engine temperature, and voltage. The following items all function as they should: 1) horns (traditional factory horn and additional ooo-gah horn operated by a button under the dashboard), 2) radio, 3) all exterior lights, 4) air conditioning, 5) heater, and 6) wipers. A previous owner has installed red LEDs under the dash to light the interior floorboard, and these LED lights have an on and off switch below the dash.
