The 1958 Chevrolet Impala debuted as Chevrolet’s flashy flagship for the brand’s 50th-anniversary year. Designed under Harley Earl, it wore one-year-only sheet-metal with big fins, dual headlamps, and the famous symmetrical triple-taillight signature. Offered only as a hardtop or convertible coupe, engines ranged from a 235-ci inline-6 to the hot 348-ci Tri-Power V-8.
