Chassis #83849 | Engine #67057 | Gearbox #16350
Offered for sale is an 84,000 original miles, matching-numbers 1958 Porsche 356A Speedster in its rare and original color combination of Aquamarine Blue (5707) over Light Brown. An early T2 example built in October 1957, it was sold new through Hoffman Motors in New York and delivered to its first owner in Florida. Remarkably, the car remained in single-family ownership until 1975, then passed to its second and long-term caretaker.
Now showing approximately 84,000 original miles, this Speedster received a meticulous, documented restoration by Michaelian Restoration of Stuart, Florida in the late 1990s. The car was stripped to bare metal, properly refinished, and fitted with period-correct materials throughout. The original 1.6L flat-four engine and 4-speed manual gearbox (BBAB group) are both numbers-matching and were mechanically refreshed in 2022. The steering gearbox was rebuilt in 2020, and the car runs and drives reliably with excellent road manners.
Cosmetically, the car features correct T2 details including wedge turn signals, teardrop tail lamps, Speedster badging, a high-bow black soft top, and chrome tubular bumper overriders. The interior retains its original specification with restored Light Brown leatherette upholstery and original-style instrumentation.
Comes with Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, factory Kardex, original Florida title, extensive restoration records, and full service history. Original tool roll and jack handle are not present.
Highlights:
Matching numbers chassis, engine, and transmission
Two-owner car with ~84,000 original miles
Rare Aquamarine Blue over Light Brown color combo
Documented restoration with photo album and receipts
Includes Porsche COA, Kardex, and original title
