HISTORY

As the successor to the legendary Aurelia, Lancia presented the Flaminia in Geneva in 1957 with an advanced transaxle concept. The Flaminia also quickly featured servo-assisted disc brakes all round and the excellent De Dion rear axle. Lancia allowed itself the luxury of offering various coupé versions by Pininfarina, Carrozzeria Touring and Zagato for the two-door variants. The touring version with its "Superleggera" aluminum body is reminiscent of the Maserati 3500. The Lancia Touring GT (=Gran Turismo) was aimed at the wealthy middle class, for whom a comparable Maserati or Ferrari GT was simply too expensive. Due to its aluminum cladding, the Touring Flaminia is very light (1350 kg curb weight) and achieved very astonishing values ​​at the time. The version with 3 carburetors and the high-revving 2.5 liter engine with 140 hp is particularly popular. This engine in conjunction with a very harmonious 5-speed gearbox has an easy time with this Lancia. This Flaminia was manufactured in Milan by Carrozzeria Touring in 1961 , the car has benefited from a restored in the past and very well maintained ever since. The bodywork is in good shape with nice and thin, correctly aligned panelwork. Of course the chassis is also very sound and rust-free. The paintwork is neat with only a few minor blemishes. The interior trim has recently been replaced with lovely brown leather and new carpets.
