1962 MGA MKII roadster for sale. Outstanding condition, rare 62MKII with a lot of history, documents, major restoration. It was the last year of the MGA which used front disc brakes, and the 1622cc engine. I have the Original Numbers matching 1622 engine crated. I have history and records on this car going back over 40 years. This is rare to have this kind of history and documentation on a classic car. I am the second owner. The first major restoration was in 1985 and the car only had 10,000 miles put on it when I purchased the car in 2019. Since 2019, I wanted to take the car to the next level with a major restoration in 2024 and in 2025. The MGA has approximately 13,800 miles.
This is a rust-free roadster and many pictures available to document the underside, behind the fenders, etc. The restoration maintained the original chariot red body color from the factory and black leather interior with red piping. As you will see in the pictures, I have lined the car with special fat mat insulation and protected all of the back side metal with Por 15 metal protection when the fenders were all removed and doors and frame to protect the unseen surfaces. The paint work (Spies Hecker high end used on Mercedes/BMW) was performed by Kansas Body Works in Wichita, KS. As the pictures will show the body was all disassembled and with new fender piping. The car has received much new rechroming where needed. The MGA comes with a tonneau cover and a brand new black soft top installed.
The engine has been entirely rebuilt from the ground up using all new parts and machined by Custom Engines in Wichita, KS. The 18GH engine was only bored out (.20) and head work was performed by Custom Engines as well. The original number matching 1622 engine remains crated. The new engine has approximately 300 miles since total rebuild. The build included a brand new pressure plate, disc and machined flywheel, and transmission seals, throw out bearing and clutch cylinder since the engine was removed. I have spare parts including the original SU carbs, manifold, classic gold radiator, brand new Smiths oil/water gauge and other misc. parts including a brand new Windshield still in the packing box and brand new spare dynometer/alternator in the box.
Interior has been completely restored in leather including the dash and new or rebuilt gauges and the car lined with fatmat insulation and upgraded wood and polished stainless steel steering wheel.
The MGA has been upgraded to negative ground 12 volt system, upgraded alternator inside a dynometer for originality appearance. The cooling system has been upgraded as well with aluminum radiator and electric fan in addition to upgraded belt driven fan. There are too many details to list in this advertisement, additional information will be reserved for the serious buyer. I have many other pictures. Any questions text or call Keven at [phone number hidden]. Price 29,995.. Thank you.
