This1966 Sportvan Deluxe Van is a 90% fully restored running driving project that has to leave my life, unfortunately for me but great for you! only 2,341 were manufactured in this particular model, and year. a rare find and a future investment for sure.
Exterior:
In some small open areas behind the wheels need minor patching, entire underfloor is rust free, all original badging, trim all there, looks like a while ago it was painted silver, (see pics) I have a pappi's patina jumbo kit for the Van that comes with purchase. Original Bumpers, kinda rough (and rare) but I had them Powdercoated Chrome Silver, and they look a lot nicer now.
All new rear and front light covers, new Cooper Cobra Radial Tires, with Original period specific aluminum slot rims, from the 60's in LA, cleaned up with new spinner caps. HD Rancho mono Shocks, Front springs: new bushings, lowered all glass is good, newer front windshield, have all new door locks to be installed (included). LED Head light bulbs in classic style housings, all new rear and front light bezels. Brakes at 80%
Drivetrain/Components:
New Remanufactured professionally built 250cu with an RV cam and Moly Rings, Professionally rebuilt TH350 installed with shift kit and a Lokar floor shifter, cable run. Lokar Neutral safety switch kit (no obsolete parts to deal with) New Volt Reg, Alternator, starter. New Optima Redtop Battery and pos/neg wires.Cooling system, new water pump, new aluminum radiator, all new hoses, and new aluminum external transmission cooler cylinder fin type with steel braided lines. New 2 barrel Weber carb, with an Edelbrock electric fuel pump and new fuel pressure regulator. stock intake and exhaust manifolds, good shape, no leaks or cracks. with new custom exhaust system. New progressive suspension motor mounts, Custom built all steel Transmission lower mount to factory location on bottom of van, using the bushing kit , worked out perfect. All new cooling system components, with external electric fan (for waiting in line at car shows) and manual aluminum fan on engine. All new aftermarket gauges (functioning). A new Old Air Products complete A/C unit installed, (Needs to be charged). re-balanced original drive shaft, with new u joints. Rear end gear oil changed, gears look great. (no shakes or vibrations, very smooth).
Interior:
Fully Carpeted, with padding, Newer Upholstery on all seats and bench, Lap belts installed, Dash, floor, doghouse, etc. painted, dash radio delete, New Head liner, Fully insulated walls, and solar insulated ceiling, Two tone interior, grey and red combo, lower panels are a fiberglass used in commercial bathrooms, easy to clean, moisture and mold resistant. All top molded panels are original in great shape. New early old style 60's chevy Steering wheel 15", All new Stereo system 1000amp 4channel bluetooth (just hit play on your phone instead of a deck) with 4 three way 6x9 pioneer speakers and a 10" Subwoofer box behind bench seat. Has new black powder coated steel frame, grey Futon bed/bench seat in rear. Stereo wired separate from vehicle wiring.
So what's left to do?
Run engine for 500 miles, dump break in zinc oil, and keep driving it, Cam is broken in, only has about 5 miles on engine, rings still need to seat, Re-adjust timing and air/fuel mixture on carb (Weber DGV Carburetor Jetting kit included)
(No ticking, or valve adjustments required, runs like a sewing Machine)
(once cable for trans breaks in possible minor adjustment)
Wiring, Need to hook up, dome lights (pre-wired), head lights, back up lights, neutral safety switch (If you want to), turn signals.
I stopped and I bought a Painless Wiring Kit to redo all wiring for safety and reliability, 1966 wiring harnesses can be brittle and have issues down the road...Wiring kit comes with purchase. All wiring to run the van is functioning properly.
Charge A/C.
Front end is original straight axle, alignment and steering is fine, also comes with brake master cylinder for future restoration completion, (original works fine for now )
