1969 Triumph Bonneville T120R for sale by LBI Limited in Philadelphia, PA
History
The Triumph Bonneville T120 was the first in the long line of Bonneville motorcycles, and itself was produced for quite a while, from 1959 to 1975. Called “The Best Motorcycle in the World” by Triumph when it launched in 1959, the T120 used the 649 cc parallel-twin engine from the Triumph Tiger T110, along with its optional twin 1 3/16 in Amal Monobloc carburetors and high-performance inlet camshaft. The T120 had numerous variants throughout its production run, either with different engines, transmissions, or entirely race-focused powertrains.
This Motorcycle
This particular example, chassis # AC10284, is a 1969 Triumph Bonneville T120R, making it an official US market export. Being a 1969 model year also means it benefits from the upgraded ignition system introduced in 1968. While its history has been largely lost to time, we can tell it underwent a total restoration about 10-15 years ago when it was refinished in Olympic Flame Orange and has seen some use since the restoration was completed – 179 Miles since restoration. More recently this T120R has received a recent service by marquee specialist, CR Cars of Beverly, NJ. Addressing the fuel system, ignition, fluids change and adjustments as needed to call it turn key and reliable. This is an opportunity to acquire a proper running and driving bike from Triumph’s golden era. With an attitude that invites riders to see why the bike maker once called it “The Best Motorcycle in the World.” Included in the sale is a set of mirrors in addition to a full set of keys.
