About this 1970 Jaguar E-Type Roadster

VIN: 1R13623

Solid, honest driver that starts, runs, steers, tracks, handles, and stops as it should. It's not perfect and definitely not "concourse". So you can buy with confidence, every attempt has been made to note imperfections with yellow tape in the pictures and the following disclaimers. Also in the photos are the recent pre-purchase inspection and servicing. First, the "bad news": The resprayed paint (originally yellow) presents well, but several chips and scratches are noted. The chrome trim is in good condition, except that 3 of the 4 bumper overriders have dents. Upon close inspection, a few wire wheel spokes show very minor corrosion. The top header is solid, and the frame operates and secures properly, but the Eisenglass has yellowed, compromising visibility, and there is a small nick in the vinyl. For the "good news," please read on,. As I said, ReRun (I call him that because it is like the one I had 50 years ago!) is a solid, safe, rust-free, roadworthy, driver-quality XKE, not a trophy winner, but presents well and can be parked anywhere without the anxiety that comes with those cars. It is perfect for "Cars and Caffeine", Jaguar and British car Club events, Cruise-Ins, and Sunday Socials. Recently subjected to a pre-sale inspection and servicing by Atlantic Coventry of St. Augustine, FL. It is ready for Spring!. With a glossy red exterior, classic English black leather interior, chrome wire wheels wearing Michelin radials, it definitely gets noticed. The seats, door panels, instrument panel, dash pad, and sun visors have no rips, tears, or cracks. Under current ownership, the headrests and seat cushions have been replaced, along with new diaphragms. The center console and armrest have been recovered. A new boot retrim kit has been installed, beneath which is the matching spare tire and wheel. The battery has been replaced along with the fuel pump and filter. A complete stainless steel exhaust system was installed. A heat and noise shield was applied to the floor pans, one of which was replaced. The carpets are stain-free, and custom wool Jaguar logo floormats are included. The tachometer and clock have been rebuilt; the instruments all function. The exterior lamps and signals work. The radio is operational and has a new antenna. The original wood steering wheel and cat logo center cap are in good condition. The bumpers and chrome trim are clean and bright. The top and frame raise, lower, and clamp in place as they should. A custom boot cover provides protection and aesthetic flair when the top is down. All glass is clear and damage-free, and the windows crank up and down easily. The door latches operate correctly. The results of the previously mentioned inspection and servicing are posted with the pictures. Compression was verified, plugs cleaned, the brakes were flushed and adjusted, noting that the pads still have good thickness and the rotors have minimal wear. It further notes that the car starts, runs, shifts, stops, and handles as it should. The cooling system is fitted with a heavy-duty radiator and dual electric fans. Questions, comments, and requests are welcome. Thanks for looking!
