The Maserati Ghibli is an absolute masterpiece, designed by the 32-year-old Giorgetto Giugiaro during his time at the prestigious design house Ghia. This stunning car features iconic pop-up headlights and a low, streamlined nose with a powerful 4.7-liter V8 engine with dry-sump lubrication. The Ghibli is a 2+2 Gran Tourer known for its fantastic driving dynamics.

In terms of performance, the Ghibli is astonishing and reminiscent of the speed of an airplane. Even today, this car is impressively fast. Acceleration from 0-100 km/h takes just 6.8 seconds, and the top speed is still an impressive 250 km/h. In the 1970s, the Ghibli often stood in the shadow of the Ferrari Daytona, but today the Maserati Ghibli is appreciated on its own merits: a superbly fast, beautifully designed Gran Tourer.

This specific “Verde Gemma” example was delivered by Grossman Motor Car Corporation in West Nyack, New York, on November 25, 1970, and has since covered just over 14,000 miles. The car is still in the same color scheme as the day it left the factory.

In 2004, the Ghibli was exported to Switzerland, where it then had only 10,310 miles on the odometer. The first Swiss owner kept the car until 2006, after which a German collector acquired it with a mileage of just 13,000 miles. During its time in Switzerland, the car underwent extensive maintenance, with the invoices included in the documentation.

The car sits on beautiful Campagnolo wheels with good tires. The green paint is in very good condition, and the body is beautifully original with nice sheet metal and correct fittings. The chrome work is also in excellent original condition. The leather has developed a beautiful patina over the years, contributing to the original look of this Maserati Ghibli. The wooden steering wheel and original carpets are also in good condition.

Technically, the Maserati is also in perfect condition. The ZF five-speed transmission shifts smoothly and contributes to the fantastic driving experience. The star of the show is the quad-cam, dry-sump, 310 hp V8 Maserati engine with 4 double Weber carburetors, which produces a fantastic sound.
