My dad replaced his 1947 Willy's Jeep in the early 1980's. Was the workhorse on his ranch. Using trailer to haul firewood and move supplies around. The popular activity was going 4 wheeling of course, and giving rides to church groups, and hunting on logging roads. It got muddy, and that's when the 4x4 increased my confidence and at times, yeah, we got stuck. All thru the 80's and 90's it ran great. Nice power. I eventually used it to drive to Portland from Mountaindale, for college, and meanwhile, my dad finally got a Kubota. My dad sold it to a guy that restored cars in 2012. Years later. The guy got sick and restored it 80%. I purchased it from him, thinking I could finish. Still runs great, but the electrical needs finishing. Frame off restoration, and original motor.
Dashboard needs attention. Love this old jeep, but it's been sitting in garage for over a year now. I know there are alot of you guys out there that know way more than me.
I have an incomplete black canvas top with doors. No hardware. I also got 2 half doors that I haven't put on yet. Have jeep cover as well. I covered jeep even though it is in garage. New battery and super clean. Underside has a leak, but not from engine. New seatbelts, and no speakers. 3 speed and no issues with clutch, easy to get to highway speeds. Also has power steering. Clean title.
