Descriptions:
This stunning final-year ‘Cuda features an all original drive train, including the V-code 440 6-BBL powerplant, offered only in the ‘Cuda’s 1970-71 E-Body platform. Only 108 440 6-BBL hardtop ‘Cudas were ordered in 1971 with a 4-speed manual transmission, as documented on the copy of the Dave Wise-authored Elite Wise Inspection Report to be included with this sale. The Six-Pack 440 was advertised with 385 horsepower, though insiders knew it commanded well over 400.
In 1971, Chrysler was the only domestic brand still offering multiple carburetion. A factory N96 Shaker build, the original E87 440/385 hp 6-BBL V-8 engine here is backed by the A33-coded Trak Pak, consisting of a factory Hemi-type A833 4-speed manual transmission and Dana 60 differential driveline. Power front disc brakes and heavy-duty cooling round out the performance package.
The last-year-offered FC7 In-Violet exterior is complemented by the one-year-only trademark six-slot “cheese grater” grille and front fender “gill” vents. The cabin offers upscale flair with its wood-grain-trimmed dash, N85 tachometer, booted Hurst Pistol Grip shifter, C55 high-back black bucket seats and AM/FM stereo radio.
The dual exterior sport mirrors are in body color, and the car has been correctly repainted without billboard graphics. Other highlights are the decklid moldings treatment and other premium chrome-line brightwork, hood tie-down pins, chrome exhaust tips and Rally wheels with F60-15 Goodyear Polyglas GT tires. Built at Hamtramck, this car truly represents the fitting finale to the big-block’ Cuda. In a desirable color with a Shaker hood and 4-speed driveline, it remains a Plymouth out to win over Mopar enthusiasts.

* Comprehensive frame-off restoration
