For Sale: 1975 Porsche 914 1.8L - Malaga Red - $24,500 OBO
Location: Great Falls, Virginia
Reluctantly selling my beautiful 1975 Porsche 914 1.8L. If you're looking for an iconic, mid-engine classic that delivers one of the purest driving experiences, this is the car for you. Its brilliant Malaga Red paint gets compliments everywhere it goes, and the removable Targa top is perfect for nice days on the road.
This is a fantastic example of a late-model 914, featuring the fuel-injected 1.8L engine that runs strong and reliably. The car is a true joy to drive, with go-kart-like handling that will put a smile on your face on every back road.
Vehicle Details:
Year: 1975
Make: Porsche
Model: 914
Engine: 1.8L Flat-Four
Transmission: 5-Speed Manual
Exterior Color: Malaga Red (L30C)
Interior Color: Black
Mileage: ~90,000 actual miles
Title: Clean Virginia Title in hand
Mechanical: The 1.8L engine starts easily, idles smoothly, and pulls nicely through all the gears. The Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection works as it should. The 5-speed transmission shifts cleanly. Brakes are solid and the car tracks straight. Recent oil change completed and zero issues with this car. No rust in the hell hole or underneath.
Exterior: The paint is a gorgeous Malaga Red and presents very well with a deep shine. Small imperfections present (as would be expected on a 50-year old classic.) All panels are straight with good gaps. The removable Targa top is in excellent condition and seals well. Fuchs-style alloy wheels are clean and fitted with tires that have plenty of life left. All lights and indicators are functional. Replaced factory headlights with LED modern for greater output, but original lights come with the car.
Interior: The interior is clean and largely original. Seats are in great shape with no major rips or tears. The dashboard is in great condition with no cracking (a common issue on these cars). All gauges are clear and functional. Replacement steering wheel with wooden Momo wheel and Porsche horn button, and a wooden 914 shifter knob. Original knob and steering wheel come with the car.
Structural: This is a solid car. The longitudinals and floor pans are in good shape, and the infamous "hell hole" under the battery tray is solid.
Things to Know:
This is a 50-year-old classic car, and it's not a brand-new vehicle. There are minor rock chips and imperfections consistent with its age and use. It’s a wonderful driver's car, not a concours queen.
Price:
Asking $24,500 or best reasonable offer.
I am not in a rush to sell. Serious inquiries only, please. No joyrides. The car is stored in a climate controlled garage in Northern VA.
