1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am – Solar Gold
455 Oldsmobile Big Block | T-Tops | 350–450 HP | 500 lb-ft Torque
For sale is my Solar Gold 1979 Pontiac Trans Am, one of the most recognizable American muscle cars of its time. This car combines vintage style with modern muscle upgrades, making it an absolute blast to drive.
Highlights:
Engine & Performance: Originally a 301ci, now upgraded to a 455 Oldsmobile V8 (7.5L) bored .040 over, paired with a Turbo 350 HD transmission and 3.73 gears.
Estimated 350–450 HP with about 500 lb-ft of torque – tons of low-end grunt.
Reads 94,411 miles. Actual mileage: 34,411 miles
Classic Solar Gold paint with gold interior. T-Tops in good shape, perfect for cruising.
Aftermarket radio with a fun loudspeaker system (sirens & animal sounds).
Clean overall, with the common dash crack these cars are known for.
Well-maintained; most parts replaced with original-spec components during the engine swap. Runs strong and sounds mean.
I’ve had the car for over a year and have taken good care of it. Unfortunately, I’ll be out of the country for a while and can’t enjoy it as much as I’d like, so I’d rather see it go to someone who will put it on the road.
If you want a classic late-’70s Trans Am with serious torque, iconic looks, and the unmistakable muscle car feel, this is it. A perfect weekend cruiser or local show car that turns heads everywhere it goes.
