Scirocco
This Scirocco GT sport coupé was first purchased by its initial owner, born in 1919, and registered in the Gütersloh region. He obtained the vehicle at the dealer in Halle, Westfalen, and between 1979 and 1992 he drove a mere 25,000 km with the vehicle. The original invoice from October 9th 1979 as well as the authentic motor vehicle registration certificate remain available.
In 1992, the initial owner, now aged 73 years, sold the Scirocco back to the dealer, who in turn gave the vehicle to his wife as a gift and had it registered to her name. The lady was born in 1942 and, like so many hailing from that period, treated her possessions with great care and even avoided driving the Scirocco entirely if possible.
This explains the remarkably low mileage and the noteworthy good overall condition. In June of 2017, after 25 years in second hand, a German pilot purchased the Scirocco with a mileage of 30,450 km. After that came one enthusiast owner/collector whom we've bought this car from. He has gone to great lenghts of making it drive exceptionaly well.
In 2024 the steel wheels were media-blasted and powdercoated and fitted with new Continental tyres, all 5 wheels. The timing belt was replaced along with all filters and fluids (engine, transmission, brakefluid and coolant. Ignition cap, rotor, cables and plugs were replaced. While in there the car received a new startermotor, waterpump and alternator as well.
This Mk 1 Scirocco runs, drives, looks exceptionally well.
