1984 Oldsmobile Toronado "Caliente". This is an extremely rare make and model. In 1984 there were only "2400" of these extremely rare Caliente packages ever produced. This car was originally priced at 27,000 US in 1984.
This extremely rare beauty came with all the extra's, moonroof, 6 way seat, Leather interior, back reading lights for a long ride, etc...An American made rare beauty.
This car I originally purchased for a complete restoration project car but never had the time to get to it. It needs some TLC and restoration. Some rust on doors and some small spots. This vehicle has never been in an accident. The frame is in excellent condition. The motor runs like a top, all maintenance has been kept on top of. There are some seals that leak and the Belt for the air conditioner was cut. Also needs some heater coil work. The hub lock is missing, so I use needle nose pliers to get the hubs off. The passengers side mirror needs replacing as well as the door handle. The bumper fills also need replacing as well as the strips than run along the vehicle to get it back to all original shape, with a new paint job and it will be like new.
As for the interior it is in good shape, needs a new headliner and a seal around the moon roof. I have the original radio and owners manual. It comes with the original spare tire. All in all it needs someone to spend some time and effort to restore this car. It was my daily driver for many years and never left me stranded. I have looked for years trying to find and follow the market on these rare Caliente models and have found very few online. The cars I saw that had the Caliente packages were years ago and pristine, however they did not have all the bells and whistles this Olds, came with. That being said for the right collector, some TLC, this extremely rare beauty could be worth a lot of money in the not too distant future. If you are seriously interested give me a call and we can discuss details.
