We are excited to offer on behalf of one of customers, this low mile and well maintained 1987 Porsche 930 Turbo Coupe.
For many years, 2shores has been offering selected first grade examples of collectible automobiles. This outstanding 930 Turbo Coupe is one of those offerings!
Porsche 930 History:
Porsche made its first and most significant changes to the 930 for the 1978 model year, enlarging the engine bore by 2 mm to a total displacement of 3,299 cc and adding an air-to-air intercooler. By cooling the pressurized air charge, the intercooler helped increase power output to 300 PS (221 kW; 296 hp) at 5,500 rpm and 412 Nâ‹…m (304 lbâ‹…ft) of torque at 4,000 rpm (DIN).
The rear ‘whale tail’ spoiler was re-profiled and raised slightly to make room for the intercooler and the spoiler was now infamously called the ‘tea tray’ spoiler by the enthusiasts. The suspension benefitted from new anti-roll bars, firmer shock absorbers and larger diameter rear torsion bars. Porsche also upgraded the brakes to units similar to those used on the 917 race car.
Changing emissions regulations in Japan and the United States forced Porsche to withdraw the 930 from those markets in 1980.
By the 1985 model year Porsche reintroduced the 930 to the Japanese and U.S. markets in 1986 with an emission-controlled engine having a power output of 282 hp (210 kW; 286 PS) at 5500 rpm and 377 Nâ‹…m (278 lbâ‹…ft) at 4000 rpm of torque. At the same time Porsche introduced targa and cabriolet variants, both of which proved popular.
Our car on offer:
This is a 2 owner California Turbo Coupe with only 46k documented miles on it. Finished in classic silver metallic (980) over black leather, this Turbo looks very attractive and is in stunning condition.
The body is laser straight and still wears about 50% of it’s original paint with only very minimal signs of use.
We absolutely dig a silver 930! The legendary tea tray spoiler with its black fin and the black front lip spoiler along with the black centered Fuchs wheels make for a wonderful contrast on the silver paint. Just a classic, timeless look. Never any accidents with a clean Carfax and absolutely zero corrosion on this California car!
The interior is 100% original (except a modern radio) un-restored and in fantastic condition. Very good dash, no cracks, warping or discoloring, the leather seats are free of any rips and still very soft to the touch, perfect black headliner, door panels and original great carpets. All control switches work and the classic 911 dials are in flawless condition. Working clock as well.
The current owner bought this Turbo from it’s original owner in 2003 with 19k miles on it. Over the past 22 years, the car has been treated like a family member and has never seen a drop of rain. Serviced regularly at a well-known Porsche specialist in Sacramento, it comes with a great service history and needs nothing.
This Turbo runs and drives absolutely great, it is a joy to get this car out on an open road.
It comes with great service documentation, original books and stamped service manual, complete tool kit, spare, jack and compressor and a car cover.
