This 1988 Ford Econoline has been an absolute gem. I originally bought it as the centerpiece for my outdoor lifestyle brand, Destination Unknown, and it’s played a huge role in the journey ever since. Just recently, I drove it back from Colorado—21 hours straight to Kentucky—with zero issues. It’s more than just a van; it’s been a character in my story, showing up at countless pop-up shops and adventures along the way.
I picked it up just about a year ago and put around $3,600 into it five months back. Here’s what’s been done:
Full brake service (new front pads and rotors)
New rear wheel bearings
New serpentine belt
New Headlights and Wipers
Thrust angle alignment
It’s outfitted with a bed in the back and a charging port, making it a vintage traveler’s dream. While it doesn’t have heat or a stereo system, and there’s a minor oil leak up front, this van still runs strong and has plenty of life left in it.
I’m only selling it because I’m ready for something different—but this van has definitely been a solid part of the ride.
