Based on my research, here are the common issues with the Ferrari Mondial’s air conditioning system:

1. Compressor and Clutch Failures - The Mondial uses a Sanden compressor with a special clutch that’s fairly unique to Ferrari. Both the compressor and clutch are known failure points, especially after years of service.

2. Blower Motor Resistor Issues - The blower motor resistor is a common failure point that can cause the fan to run continuously or not work at all. In some cases, the resistor frame can come loose and short against nearby metal parts.

3. Refrigerant Leaks - Like many vintage cars, the Mondial’s A/C system is prone to refrigerant leaks, particularly from aging seals and hoses. Many systems have been converted from the original R-12 to R-134a refrigerant.

4. Control System Problems - The climate control system uses various sensors and relays that can fail, preventing the compressor from engaging properly.

5. Evaporator Issues - Problems with the evaporator coil, including dirt buildup or insufficient airflow, can cause the system to blow warm air or the compressor to disengage.
